  1. SAFETY CLIMB SYSTEM – RAIL

  2. The RAM safety climb rail system is designed to mount directly to fixed ladders to provide fall protection while combing.  The system’s unique design allows the trolley to be installed only one way, thus eliminating the possibility of an accident by installing the trolley upside down.  The rails clamp to round or square Ύ” (19 mm) diameter ladder rungs. This product meets or exceeds all CSA, ANSI and OSHA requirements for climbing safety.  The RAM system is ordered by selecting (1) 10’ [3.05m] or 20’ [6.1m] Top Rail Kit and then selecting the appropriate number of 10’ or 20‘ Rail Kits to achieve your tower height requirement. Mounting brackets and a rail splice are furnished with each of the 10’ or 20’ kits. Both the rail and the trolley are manufactured from premium-quality 6061-T6 aluminum.

    The Trolley is ordered separately

    The trolley comes with a swivel hook.  This trolley (part #160372) which uses a gravity lever mechanism for inside/outside climb applications is used in conjunction with the Ram Rail system.

  3. SAFETY CLIMB SYSTEM – CABLE
  4. The RAM safety climb cable system is designed from galvanized aircraft cable which always and industry innovator. RAM uses 3/8” galvanized aircraft cable, rather than 3/8” guy strand. There are two very good reasons for this. Firstly, aircraft cable has greater flexibility than guy strand, it is easier to use and install. Secondly, aircraft cable is designed for rough handling – thus it will provide longer life, and most importantly, a greater margin of safety. RAM’s shock absorbing top anchor point uses a simple but safe design that exceeds ANSI specs. The RAM bottom anchor design is compact enough to start right at the bottom of the climbing ladder. It also includes an adjustable tension device to accommodate various tower heights. The cable supports can accommodate any ladder rung spacing. Extension kits are available for greater standoff from the tower face when necessary. As well, the supports use a simple design that makes it easy to unhook the cable for pass-through during climbing. The RAM sleeve uses an ingenious gravity-operated lockout device to prevent the sleeve from being installed upside down. As an added measure of safety, the sleeve cannot be removed from the cable when the carabineer is installed. The system is designed to arrest a fall within 6”, thus minimizing impact on the climber and the structure. This product meets or exceeds all CSA, ANSI and OSHA requirements for climbing safety. All RAM products are manufactured in accordance with ISO 9000 Quality Standards.
